Bavarian Ministry Honors Top Restaurants and Beer Halls for Regional Cuisine
The Bavarian State Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism, together with the hotel and restaurant association DEHOGA Bayern, presented the "GenussKüche" awards to 29 gastronomy establishments and 19 festival tent operators. The ceremony, led by Agriculture, Food and Tourism Minister Michaela Kaniber and DEHOVA president Angela Inselkammer, recognized excellence in three categories: "Ausgezeichnete GenussKüche" (Outstanding Regional Kitchen), "Ausgezeichnete Bierkultur" (Outstanding Beer Culture) and "Ausgezeichnetes Festzelt" (Outstanding Festival Tent).
Awardees were praised for adhering to the principle "Regional. Seasonal. Original." and for using local products, offering high‑quality service and preserving Bavarian hospitality. Several inns from the Unterallgäu and Aichach‑Friedberg districts were among the winners, while the majority of honored establishments came from Upper Bavaria. Minister Kaniber highlighted that the winners act as ambassadors of Bavarian culinary culture, saying, "With your commitment you write a piece of Bavarian success story day by day and promote our regional producers."
The "GenussKüche" initiative is part of the broader "Genuss Bayern – Heimat des Guten" brand, aimed at promoting Bavarian food heritage and supporting local producers.
