Bavarian municipalities receive billions from federal special fund

The German federal government’s Sondervermögen special fund allocates two billion euros in the 2026/27 double budget for municipalities across Bavaria. The funding is intended for projects in infrastructure, education and childcare facilities, civil protection and digitalisation.

In the district of Augsburg, €11.7 million has been made available. In the neighbouring district of Aichach‑Friedberg, a total of €22.8 million is earmarked – €5.9 million for the district itself and the remainder for its 30 municipalities, with allocations ranging from €250,000 for Adelzhausen to €3.53 million for the city of Friedberg.

SPD Landtag member Simone Strohmayr stressed that “municipalities are the foundation of a functional society and must finally be strengthened,” describing the Sondervermögen as a crucial step toward supporting local communities.
