Bavarian Parliament warns AfD over use of state buildings
The Bavarian State Parliament (Bayerischer Landtag) has issued a warning to the AfD faction following a potential violation of parliamentary house rules. The administration addressed the issue after reports indicated that the party may have used a room in the Maximilianeum for a state executive board meeting.
According to parliamentary officials, using state buildings for party purposes is prohibited to prevent the indirect financing of political parties. The administration sent a formal letter to AfD parliamentary group leader Katrin Ebner-Steiner, explicitly stating that further non-minor violations of the house rules could result in administrative fines.
Parliamentary managing director Christoph Maier noted that the matter has been addressed with the faction to ensure all members are informed and cannot claim ignorance in the future. The administration indicated that the issue is now considered closed.
