Bavarian Rangers and Officials Mark World Ranger and Conservation Days

On July 31, the Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald and the Naturpark Bayerischer Wald celebrated World Ranger Day with a joint information stand at Naturerlebnis Wistlbergan and a six‑kilometre guided hike led by ranger Kristin Biebl and ranger Markus Grünzinger. The event highlighted the work of rangers and explained the differences between national and nature parks, emphasizing their complementary roles in protecting natural life foundations.

Earlier, on July 28, Bavarian Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber observed World Conservation Day, stating “Naturschutz ist kein Nischenthema – er sichert unsere Lebensgrundlagen”. She stressed that healthy ecosystems underpin water, soil, biodiversity and human health, and promoted cooperation among agriculture, forestry and nature protection. Kaniber noted that about 10 500 Bavarian farms practice organic agriculture on 14 % of farmland and cited the state’s landscape and nature‑conservation programs, KULAP and VNP, which support extensive, low‑input farming practices.
