Bavarian Rhön and Styria Expand Tourism Staff Training Programs

The Bäderland Bayerische Rhön in Germany organized three joint training events for tourism staff in the spa towns of Bad Kissingen, Bad Brückenau, Bad Königshofen, Bad Neustadt and Bad Bocklet. Participants attended a premium‑city hike on 24 June to share daily‑work experiences, an artificial‑intelligence workshop on 15 July, and a guide‑qualification course that awarded 13 trainees the skills to lead visitors through the region. Thomas Beck, spokesperson for the Bäderland, said the personal exchange “is an important part of our cooperation and benefits both staff and guests.”

In Austria, the Tourism Academy announced an expanded 2026/27 training programme for employees of Styrian tourism associations and businesses. Covered topics include online‑marketing, performance‑marketing, social‑media storytelling, AI tools, revenue‑management and complaint handling. The State of Styria and Steiermark Tourismus will fund 75 % of course costs. Governor Mario Kunasek emphasized that “well‑trained staff are a decisive success factor for Styrian tourism.” Seminars will be offered both online and on‑site with partners such as WIFI Styria and industry experts.
