Bavaria's Fuchsberg‑West Rest Stop Rated Worst by ADAC

The Fuchsberg‑West service area on the A8 autobahn in Bavaria was given the lowest rating in the state by the motor club ADAC, being described as “very inadequate.” Visitors observed litter scattered on the ground despite the presence of about ten waste containers, and an abandoned, graffiti‑covered minivan that had lost its plates and mirrors. The restroom facilities were reported as especially poor, with wet tiles, a strong urine odor and foul smell from the toilets. A traveller, Stephan Pontius, noted, “I think it’s not new here,” and mentioned that police usually mark abandoned vehicles after a week. Despite the criticism, the site has recently installed several electric‑vehicle charging stations and newly paved asphalt, which were highlighted as positive modern upgrades.
