Bay of Havana Tunnel to undergo partial closures for maintenance

The Bay of Havana Tunnel will undergo partial closures for essential maintenance and cleaning operations on September 14 and 15. The restrictions are scheduled to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.

On Monday, September 14, the tunnel will be closed for traffic traveling from Havana toward Cabaña, while the opposite direction remains open. On Tuesday, September 15, the closures will reverse, shutting down the Cabaña-to-Havana route while allowing travel from Havana to Cabaña.

Authorities, including the Provincial Traffic Safety Commission, have advised drivers to use alternative routes such as Vía Blanca, the Port Ring, or Port Avenue. Drivers are also urged to reduce speed, follow instructions from traffic officers, and ensure vehicles are in good technical condition to prevent breakdowns within the tunnel.
