Bayburt hosts conference on family ethics and Prophet Muhammad's example

A conference titled ‘Our Prophet and Good Morals: Family Morality’ was held at the Çoruh Cultural Center in Bayburt as part of Mevlid-i Nebi Week. The event focused on the exemplary family life of Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing the importance of love, respect, trust, understanding, and effective communication within family relationships.

Speakers included Prof. Dr. İhsan Çapcıoğlu, a member of the Presidency of Religious Affairs High Board of Religious Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Çapcıoğlu from Ankara University. Prof. Dr. İhsan Çapcıoğlu discussed how customs and traditions can contribute to family peace if they align with the Quran and Sunnah, warning that incorrect traditions can lead to ‘learned helplessness.’ He also addressed the impact of television and digital media on privacy and family structures.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Çapcıoğlu focused on the distribution of responsibilities between men and women and the shared moral principles of trust, loyalty, and responsibility. The program was attended by local officials, including Bayburt Governor Mustafa Eldivan and Mayor Mete Memiş, as well as religious officials and academics.
