Bayburt hosts nature and culture trip for ODES project children

As part of the School Support Project (ODES) managed by the Kelkit Social Service Center Directorate, children benefiting from the Socio-Economic Support (SED) model participated in a nature and culture trip in Bayburt’s Demirözü district.

The excursion included a visit to the Yakup Abdal Pond, where forest engineers from the Bayburt Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate provided education on tree species, vegetation, and pond ecosystems to foster environmental awareness.

Participants also visited the Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum, an award winner of the European Museum Forum, to study traditional village life, historical architecture, and regional crafts. Additionally, a ferry trip on the dam lake, supported by the Demirözü Municipality, allowed children to learn about water structures and engineering. During the boat ride, students were given the opportunity to experience short-term captaincy under supervision to boost self-confidence and career awareness.
