Bayburt reports security and crime statistics for August-September

Bayburt Governor Mustafa Eldivan released security and public order data for the August-September 2026 period. During an information meeting, officials reported that 96 crimes against persons occurred, with a 100% clearance rate. Regarding crimes against property, 23 incidents were recorded, 81% of which were resolved.

Law enforcement efforts resulted in the apprehension of eight individuals with prison sentences and the questioning of 19 others, reducing the total number of wanted persons in the city to six. In anti-drug operations, five raids led to the seizure of various substances, including over 2,000 grams of methamphetamine, cannabis, cocaine, skunk, ecstasy, and synthetic drugs.

Traffic safety measures included the inspection of 31,381 vehicles, resulting in 1,710 citations. Notably, there were zero traffic fatalities during this period. Additionally, migration management efforts involved identity checks on 696 individuals, identifying 17 irregular migrants, while the number of Syrians under temporary protection was reported as 44.
