Çivril women drive agricultural production in Denizli

In the Çivril district of Denizli, women are performing essential agricultural tasks to support their families and ensure future crop yields. Working from 06:00 to 14:00 to avoid the midday heat, these laborers engage in harvesting, pruning, and thinning various fruits, including apples, cherries, and peaches.

In the Karayahşiler neighborhood, workers are specifically utilizing the ‘leader leaving’ method for Deveci pears. This technique involves shaping trees into an umbrella form to improve sunlight distribution and air circulation, which experts say promotes stronger shoots and higher quality fruit for the following season.

Separately, in the Kozan district, the ‘White Lily Project’ has reached its harvest phase. This initiative, supported by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality, provides women with training and resources to cultivate Lilium candidum. The project aims to foster economic independence and sustainable income through the cultivation of these medicinal and aromatic plants.
