Bayelsa Governor commissions second Premium Trust Bank branch
Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has commissioned the second branch of Premium Trust Bank in Yenagoa, located near the Etegwe/Edepie roundabout. Diri characterized the bank’s expansion as a demonstration of growing investor confidence in the state’s economy.
The Governor noted that Bayelsa is entering a new phase of economic opportunity, bolstered by the upcoming operation of a 60-megawatt independent power plant. He stated that reliable electricity would reduce business constraints, stimulate enterprise, and attract further investment. This emerging economic landscape is expected to increase the demand for innovative financial partners capable of providing capital to businesses and individuals.
Diri encouraged Premium Trust Bank to expand its services beyond the state capital to local government headquarters and university communities such as Amassoma and Otuoke. He emphasized that increasing the accessibility of banking services is essential for deepening financial inclusion among farmers, traders, artisans, and entrepreneurs, which in turn supports the administration’s prosperity agenda.
