Bayelsa PDP Leader Predicts APC Defeat in 2027 Elections
Great Joshua Maciver, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Bayelsa State, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will lose the National and State Assembly elections scheduled for January 2027. Speaking in Elebele, Ogbia Local Government Area, he welcomed former APC members, notably Gabriel Claudius and his supporters, into the PDP and highlighted the party’s readiness to win key constituencies, especially Ogbia Constituency III. Maciver also expressed confidence that the PDP will recapture the governorship in the 2028 election, urging members to stay united and mobilise at the grassroots level.
The remarks underscore a significant realignment ahead of the upcoming elections, with the PDP positioning itself as the dominant force in Bayelsa while the incumbent governor, Douye Diri, is portrayed as unable to prevent the APC’s defeat.
