Bayer implements biotechnology for cotton farmers in Minas Gerais
Bayer is implementing advanced biotechnology, precision spraying, and modernized logistics to improve cotton production competitiveness for family farmers in northern Minas Gerais, Brazil. Through a long-standing partnership with the Cooperativa dos Produtores Rurais de Catuti (Coopercat), the initiative provides technical assistance to help producers overcome semi-arid climate challenges and pest pressures, such as the pink bollworm.
In the 2025/26 harvest, the project covered 260 hectares in the Catuti region. Current productivity in harvested areas has reached 320 arrobas per hectare, with expectations for developing crops to potentially exceed 600 arrobas per hectare.
