Bayer Leverkusen director backs Victor Boniface amid transfer rumors

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has expressed confidence in striker Victor Boniface, urging the Nigerian international to remain patient despite speculation regarding a potential January transfer.

Boniface has seen limited playing time this season, making only one league appearance. This lack of involvement, coupled with reports that the 25-year-old wishes to leave the club, has fueled rumors of an imminent departure. Rolfes noted that while Boniface needs to improve his fitness and his work rate when pressing and defending, the club remains committed to his development.

Additionally, Rolfes highlighted Boniface’s mental progress, stating the player has a more positive outlook and sees more possibilities for his future at the club. The club’s current priority is raising the striker's fitness levels to allow him to better demonstrate his attacking qualities.
