Bayer Leverkusen leads Inter Milan's Moussa Diaby transfer race

Bayer Leverkusen has emerged as the frontrunner in the race to sign French winger Moussa Diaby from Al‑Ittihad, according to market analyst Fabrizio Romano. The German club is prepared to offer a higher salary and a larger transfer fee than Inter Milan, giving it a clear financial edge.

Inter Milan, still seeking a replacement for departing right‑back Denzel Dumfries, remains active in the market for a new winger. The club previously explored a deal that would have involved Kristjan Asllani and Benjamin Pavard, but Al‑Ittihad rejected that proposal. With Diaby’s move becoming more complicated, Inter is expected to focus its remaining budget on acquiring another wide player.

Romano noted that Diaby is already familiar with Bayer Leverkusen’s system, where he could play as an attacking wide‑back in a 4‑3‑3 formation, whereas Inter would likely require him to adapt to a different role in a 3‑5‑2 setup. The Saudi club has also indicated it is not open to player‑swap arrangements, further limiting Inter’s options.
