Bayer Leverkusen prepares for Union Berlin clash with Diaby return

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Carles Martinez expects Moussa Diaby to make his second debut for the club this Saturday against Union Berlin. Diaby, who recently returned to Leverkusen on a five-year contract following stints with Aston Villa and Al-Ittihad, is expected to provide speed and offensive impact. During his previous tenure with the club from 2019 to 2023, Diaby recorded 66 Bundesliga goal involvements.

In contrast, new signing Guéla Doué will miss the upcoming match against Union Berlin. The 23-year-old right-back, who joined from Racing Straßburg just before the transfer deadline, is currently unavailable due to what Martinez described as a “small problem.” Doué is expected to be available for training next week, with a potential debut following in the match against FC Augsburg.
