Facundo Medina joins Bayer Leverkusen in 25 million euro transfer

Argentine defender Facundo Medina has officially joined Bayer Leverkusen from Olympique de Marseille. The 27-year-old, a 2026 World Cup finalist, signed a contract through June 2031. The transfer is valued at approximately 25 million euros, consisting of 23 million euros in fixed fees and 2 million euros in variables. Medina, who will wear the number 2 shirt, expressed excitement about the club’s organized project and noted that discussions with teammate Exequiel Palacios helped influence his decision.

In equestrian news, the German dressage team secured the gold medal at the World Championships in Aachen. Among the winners was Raphael Netz, who made a successful World Championship debut.
