Bayer adopts new legal tactics in US glyphosate lawsuits ahead of Supreme Court ruling
Bayer is intensifying its defence in the United States glyphosate litigation. The company filed new motions overnight aiming to have the large multidistrict case remanded to a district court in Missouri, a move intended to influence the course of the proceedings. In parallel, the firm is preparing for a pending Supreme Court judgment on whether pesticide warning labels must be applied nationwide or can vary by state. CEO Bill Anderson described the outcome as "business‑decisive" for Bayer and for future generations of crop protection products. Bayer has already paid more than $10 billion to settle Roundup-related claims and has set aside an additional $8 billion for pending lawsuits. Following the news, Bayer shares rose about 1.5 % on the Frankfurt exchange, and analysts at UBS reaffirmed a buy recommendation with a target price of €52.
