Bayer to invest 2.2 billion USD in Ohio pharmaceutical site

Bayer has announced a 2.2 billion US dollar investment to establish a new pharmaceutical production site in New Albany, Ohio. The facility is designed to consolidate the production of both active ingredients and finished medicinal products to serve patients in the United States and globally.

The project is expected to create approximately 600 jobs. The development will be implemented in phases, with the active ingredient module scheduled to begin operations by 2031 and the finished drug production division following in 2034.

This strategic expansion comes as Bayer seeks to strengthen its pharmaceutical presence in the US market. While the company reported a 2.2 percent increase in revenue to 10.872 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026, its stock has recently traded significantly below its 52-week high. Analysts from JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank have maintained positive outlooks, with price targets positioned well above current trading levels.
