Bayerischer Rundfunk shifts Herzogstand FM broadcasts to DAB+

Starting September 29, FM frequencies for five Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) programs—Bayern 1, Bayern 2, Bayern 3, BR Klassik, and BR24—will change in the area surrounding the Herzogstand transmitter. The broadcaster is decommissioning the Herzogstand FM transmitter for economic reasons and to improve energy efficiency.

Moving forward, BR will broadcast these programs from the Herzogstand location exclusively via DAB+. While listeners in the Kochelsee/Walchensee, Werdenfelser Land, and Isarwinkel regions may need to perform a new frequency search on their FM radios, the programs remain accessible via alternative FM transmitter locations such as Hühnerberg or Wendelstein.
