EuroLeague season begins with key victories for ASVEL and Bayern Munich
The EuroLeague season has commenced with several notable opening matchups. In France, ASVEL Villeurbanne, led by coach Tony Parker, secured an 84-74 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Despite a mid-game surge from the Israeli side, ASVEL maintained control, bolstered by a 19-point performance from Jaylen Crutcher and 15 points from Patty Mills.
In a closely contested game held in Sofia, Bulgaria, Bayern Munich defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 86-84. Bayern held a significant lead during much of the match, but Hapoel mounted a late comeback, nearly forcing overtime before Johannes Voigtmann secured the win with a decisive three-pointer. Andreas Obst led Bayern with 19 points.
Additionally, Partizan Belgrade opened their campaign with a 92-76 win against Armani Milano in Belgrade, driven by a double-double from Karlik Jones. Meanwhile, Mario Hezonja's future remains a topic of discussion as he attempts to secure a consistent role with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA following his successful tenure with Real Madrid.
