Bayern Munich eyes transfer of French defender Jules Koundé
Bayern Munich is assessing a move to sign French centre‑back Jules Koundé as it looks to strengthen its defence for the upcoming season. Barcelona has indicated a willingness to sell the 27‑year‑old in order to improve its financial position, setting an asking price of more than €60 million.
The player commands a weekly net salary of over £200,000, which narrows the pool of interested clubs. Bayern’s coach Vincent Kompany describes Koundé as a versatile option for both central and right‑back roles. Other Premier League sides, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, have also been alerted to his availability. Barcelona previously turned down a €68 million bid from Manchester United.
Koundé is currently representing France at the World Cup, and his performances could further influence his market value as the summer transfer window progresses.
