Bayern Munich signs Moroccan midfielder Ismail Saibari for €55 million
Bayern Munich announced the acquisition of 25‑year‑old Moroccan attacking midfielder Ismail Saibari from Ajax for a fee reported between €50 million and €55 million. He has signed a five‑year contract that runs until the summer of 2031.
Saibari arrived at Bayern after a breakthrough season in the Eredivisie, where he scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 37 appearances, helping Ajax secure a third consecutive league title and finishing as the competition’s third‑top scorer. His performances at the recent World Cup, including a decisive penalty that sent Morocco through to the round of 32, further raised his profile.
The player expressed enthusiasm about joining the German club, stating, “From a child you dream of signing with a club like Bayern… I want to win titles here.” Bayern’s coaching staff confirmed that Saibari will join training after completing his World Cup duties with the Moroccan national team.
