Bayern Munich signs Morocco star Ismael Saibari for €55 million

Bayern Munich announced the signing of Moroccan international Ismael Saibari from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. The 25‑year‑old offensive midfielder joins the German champions on a contract running until 30 June 2031 for an estimated €55 million transfer fee. Saibari will wear the number 34 shirt, a tribute to his friend Abdelhak Nouri, who suffered a career‑ending heart attack in 2017.

Saibari arrived on the world stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring three goals in the group stage and converting the decisive penalty in the round‑of‑16 shootout against the Netherlands. Bayern described him as one of the most exciting forwards of the tournament and a key element of their long‑term planning, with coach Vincent Kompany playing a decisive role in the deal. The transfer is seen as Bayern’s biggest summer acquisition, adding quality and unpredictability to an attack already featuring players such as Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala.
