Erblin Osmani weighs international future between Kosovo and Germany
Bayern Munich talent Erblin Osmani is at the center of a debate regarding his international football eligibility. While the 17-year-old midfielder has represented Germany at the U16 and U17 levels, he may soon switch to representing Kosovo.
Dr. Faruk Ajeti, the Kosovo Ambassador to Germany and Denmark, publicly announced on social media that Osmani has received his Kosovar passport and suggested the player would play for Kosovo. However, reports from BILD indicate that a final decision has not yet been made by the player or his management.
A definitive conclusion regarding his international future is expected by the end of September during the upcoming international break. If Osmani chooses Kosovo, it would represent a significant loss for the German Football Association (DFB), as he is considered one of the most promising talents born in 2009.
