Bayern Munich targets Jules Koundé from FC Barcelona

Bayern Munich is reportedly interested in transferring French defender Jules Koundé from FC Barcelona during the upcoming winter transfer window. Bayern is looking for a replacement for Kim Min-jae and has reportedly prepared an initial offer of approximately 40 million euros for the 27-year-old.

Barcelona has valued Koundé at 60 million euros. The player, who joined the club from Sevilla in 2022 for 50 million euros, has seen a reduction in playing time, starting in only two of the club's last eight official matches. This lack of consistent minutes may prompt Koundé to seek a move to ensure his position within the French national team.

Koundé's potential departure could influence Barcelona's defensive recruitment. Reports suggest the club may consider options such as Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Rațiu, who has previously been linked to the club and possesses a release clause of 25 million euros.
