Bayern Munich’s Hong Kong Visit Draws Fan Pilgrimage and Showcases Young Goalkeeper

On August 7, 2024, FC Bayern Munich played an exhibition match at Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong as part of the Audi Football Summit 2026. The event attracted thousands of supporters from across the region, including fans who travelled from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Heilongjiang. About 400 fans from Guangzhou arrived specifically to cheer the German side, vowing to turn the venue into a “second home” for Bayern.

Seventeen‑year‑old Hong Kong‑born goalkeeper Wang Tianle, a member of Bayern’s Global Academy, attended the brand activation. He described his year‑long training in Germany, the language and homesickness challenges, and the detailed technical lessons he learned from Bayern’s senior goalkeepers. Wang said he hopes to represent Hong Kong in international competition and views the Hong Kong visit as a chance to share his experience with local fans.
