Bayern's Uli Hoeness says Barcelona lack funds to sign Harry Kane

Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness dismissed rumours linking England captain Harry Kane with a move to Barcelona, stating the Spanish club “have no money anyway”. Hoeness praised Kane as “the best transfer we’ve ever made”, noting the striker’s 61 goals this season, including a hat‑trick in the 3‑0 DFB‑Pokal final that gave Bayern the cup for the first time in six years. He contrasted Bayern’s financial stability with Barcelona’s ongoing salary‑cap restrictions, reaffirming that Bayern are “a buying club, not a selling club”.

Kane, whose contract runs until 2027, said contract talks are on hold while he prepares for the World Cup. The comments came as Barcelona consider other attacking options, having recently seen long‑time striker Robert Lewandowski depart after four seasons.
