Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at British Museum faces queue issues

The Bayeux Tapestry is currently on loan to the British Museum for a historic exhibition, marking its first return to British soil in nearly 1,000 years. The embroidery, on loan from the Bayeux Museum while its home undergoes renovation, provides a detailed visual record of the Norman Conquest, featuring historical figures such as William the Conqueror and Harold.

The exhibition has seen significant public interest, with many shows already sold out. However, the British Museum has issued an apology following reports of chaotic queues that left ticket holders waiting for hours.

To accompany the display, the museum has released several books, including a collectors’ edition and a fold-out version that reproduces the tapestry's scenes. The exhibition offers insights into medieval life, ranging from shipbuilding and feasts to the brutality of battle.
