Baylis & Harding recalls hand wash over bacterial risk

Baylis & Harding has issued an urgent recall for its Oud, Cedar & Amber 1L Hand Wash Refill following the discovery of microbiological contamination. Major retailers, including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, and Amazon, are participating in the recall.

Testing identified the presence of Pluralibacter gergoviae, an anaerobic bacteria, in specific batches. The Office for Product Safety & Standards warned that the contamination could lead to infection or adverse health effects, particularly for individuals with compromised skin barriers or weakened immune systems.

The recall specifically affects batch codes 6210A and 6211A, which are printed on the base of the product pouch. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
