Baylor QB DJ Lagway expected to miss Week 2 due to injury

Baylor Bears quarterback DJ Lagway is expected to miss the upcoming Week 2 game against Prairie View A&M due to an ankle injury. Lagway sustained a high-ankle sprain during the team's opening possession in their recent loss to the Auburn Tigers.

While head coach Dave Aranda previously described Lagway as day-to-day, recent reports indicate the injury has not progressed as hoped. Nate Bennett is expected to make his first career start for the Bears this weekend while Lagway recovers. The injury occurred when Lagway landed awkwardly on his right foot after attempting to hurdle a defender.

Lagway is not expected to be sidelined long-term, and the team is managing his recovery ahead of critical Big 12 play, including a matchup against Colorado in two weeks.
