Baylor soccer defeats Pepperdine 3-1

Baylor soccer defeated Pepperdine 3-1 at Betty Lou Mays Field in Waco, Texas. Grace White opened the scoring for the Bears in the second minute, but Pepperdine’s Julia Quinonez quickly equalized in the sixth minute.

The match shifted in the second half when Pepperdine’s Emjae Soriano received a red card for denying a goal-scoring chance, leaving the Waves with a player disadvantage. Baylor capitalized on the advantage with a goal from Lauren Omholt in the 71st minute. Freshman Brynnlee Bohannon secured the victory with her first career goal in the 86th minute.

Baylor moves to a 4-1 record on the season, while Pepperdine holds a 2-1-2 record. The Bears are scheduled to face LSU next on September 3.
