Baylor University Career Center supports student internship success

The Baylor Career Center is assisting students in navigating the evolving landscape of summer internships to remain competitive with major companies. According to the 2025 Career Center Annual Report, the center facilitated over 8,000 appointments aimed at developing professional skills through Career Success Professionals.

Amy Rylander, a director at the Career Center, noted that Baylor students offer a combination of academic preparation, leadership experience from nearly 400 student organizations, and professional development. Rylander emphasized that internships are primarily opportunities for learning and skill-building, advising students not to let imposter syndrome hinder their progress.

Taylor Gilson, a senior from Apex, North Carolina, shared her experience of securing an external communications internship at the pharmaceutical company Nova Nortis. Despite applying for 200 positions without existing professional connections, Gilson credited Career Day and the center's resources with providing the necessary interview skills for her success.
