Bayreuth cancels cultural events due to funding gap

The city of Bayreuth has canceled the ‘Lange Nacht der Kultur’ due to a funding gap of approximately 344,000 euros. This financial shortfall has also impacted other planned celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival, including a planned festival mile, a drone show, and a street-art ring.

Despite these cancellations, the Team Aktiver Festspielförderer (TAff) and the Bayreuth Festival will proceed with scheduled activities on September 25. They will offer eight free guided tours of the Bayreuther Festspielhaus. The tours will begin at 17:00, with the final tour starting at 22:15 and concluding at 23:00. Interested participants must register in advance via the TAff website.
