Bayreuth Festival Orchestra begins Spanish tour

The Bayreuth Festival Orchestra has commenced a Spanish tour to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the festival. The tour began with a highly acclaimed performance at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, featuring conductor Pablo Heras-Casado and soloists Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt, and Nicholas Brownlee performing scenes from Richard Wagner’s ‘Der Ring des Nibelungen’.

Following the Barcelona performance, the orchestra’s itinerary includes stops at the Santander International Festival and the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, where it will inaugurate the 2026-2027 season on September 2. The tour is scheduled to continue with performances at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.
