Baywatch cast honors teen lifeguard Ryder Williams for Santa Cruz rescue
The cast of the 'Baywatch' revival honored 16-year-old rookie lifeguard Ryder Williams for his heroic actions in Santa Cruz, California. Williams was welcomed to the set on the final day of the season 1 production.
On July 25, Williams rescued a 10-year-old boy from 8-foot waves and rip currents at Seabright State Beach. The rescue, which was captured on video and went viral, marked his first official rescue as a lifeguard.
During the visit, actor Stephen Amell presented Williams with a season 1 production jacket, describing the teenager's bravery as 'unbelievable.' Executive Producer Greg Bonann also issued a statement noting that Williams' actions served as an inspiration to the entire cast and crew.
