Baywatch reboot trailer released starring Stephen Amell

Fox has released the first trailer for its upcoming ‘Baywatch’ reboot, scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The 12-episode series features Stephen Amell in the lead role as Hobie Buchannon, the adult son of the original series’ Mitch Buchannon. Now serving as a Baywatch Captain, Hobie’s storyline centers on the arrival of his long-lost daughter, Charlie, played by Jessica Belkin, who seeks to join the lifeguard team.

Production for the series has taken place in Los Angeles, with Fremantle and Fox Entertainment handling production. The cast includes Shay Mitchell, Noah Beck, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, and Brooks Nader, with David Chokachi returning as Cody Madison. The reboot aims to capture the dramatic and aesthetic essence of the original 1990s series while introducing a new generation of lifeguards.

At the MIPCOM television market in Cannes, cast member Brooks Nader drew attention for her ‘method dressing,’ paying homage to Pamela Anderson’s character in the 1996 film ‘Barb Wire’ through her fashion choices.
