Bazargan Border remains open despite rumors of Turkish closure

The Governor of Maku, Shahla Tajfar, has denied rumors circulating on social media regarding the closure of the Bazargan border crossing by Turkey. Officials clarified that the border remains operational.

The reported congestion and delays at the crossing are attributed to a significant increase in commercial activity and a surge in the volume of traders, merchants, and local residents passing through the area. These delays are primarily due to capacity limitations on the Turkish side of the border.

Authorities in West Azerbaijan Province are working to address these challenges to ensure smoother transit and trade. Reports regarding the current logistical issues have been submitted to the provincial governorate, and efforts are being made to coordinate with Turkish counterparts to resolve bottlenecks at this strategic gateway to Europe.
