Baze University launches excellence awards and new university press
Baze University has announced two major academic initiatives aimed at enhancing research and scholarship. The University’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Founder and Chancellor Senator Datti Baba Ahmed, has approved the establishment of the Chancellor’s Annual Excellence Awards.
These prestigious institutional honors will recognize outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. The initial flagship awards include the Chancellor’s Prize for the Best PhD Supervisor of the Year and the Chancellor’s Prize for the Best Published Academic Staff Member of the Year. The awards are intended to incentivize innovation and reinforce high standards of scholarship.
Additionally, the university has established the Baze University Press (BUP) to increase the global visibility of scholarly works. The press will publish books, academic journals, research monographs, and policy papers produced by the university’s academic community. BUP will utilize international publishing standards, including peer review, and will offer services such as manuscript development, digital archiving, and copyright administration to support research integrity and impact.
