BAZNAS distributes economic empowerment aid in Gresik

The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) RI, in collaboration with Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, has distributed economic empowerment aid in Gresik, East Java.

The assistance, totaling several hundred million rupiah, was delivered through various programs including Zmart Pesantren, the BAZNAS Ultra Micro Mosque (BUMi) program, and the Santripreneur initiative. Specifically, Rp 350 million was allocated for seven Zmart Pesantren units, Rp 500 million for five mosques under the BUMi program, and Rp 21 million for a circular economy-based empowerment garden through the Santripreneur program.

BAZNAS Chairman Sodik Mudjahid stated that these mosque and pesantren-based programs aim to strengthen grassroots financial independence. Muhaimin Iskandar emphasized the role of pesantren as a vital ecosystem for poverty alleviation and regional economic drivers.
