BAZNAS RI targets Rp70 trillion in national zakat collection by 2027

The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) RI has set a national target to collect Rp70 trillion in Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and other religious social funds (ZIS-DSKL) by 2027. This goal, part of the 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, encompasses BAZNAS at the provincial and district levels, as well as various Zakat Amil Institutions (LAZ) across Indonesia.

During the 2026 National Coordination Meeting, BAZNAS Chairman Sodik Mudjahid emphasized that achieving this target requires synergy between regional BAZNAS branches, central and local governments, the business sector, and partner institutions. The initiative aims to optimize the productive use of zakat funds to alleviate poverty and expand social benefits.

In conjunction with these strategic goals, BAZNAS RI held its 2026 Grand Awards to recognize regional leaders supporting zakat management. Afni Zulkifli, the Regent of Siak, was among 15 regional heads honored for her commitment to strengthening zakat administration. She received the award in the Best Supporting Regent for Zakat category, highlighting the importance of local government policy and regulation in empowering the community.
