ÖBB commuters face major delays on the Nordbahn

Commuters on the Nordbahn experienced significant disruptions on the evening of October 19, with delays exceeding 120 minutes. The issues primarily affected the REX 1 service (train number 22348) traveling from Vienna Main Station toward Břeclav.

ÖBB attributed the delays to two main factors: a truck that became stuck in an underpass in Brunn am Gebirge and a technical train defect near Wiener Neustadt/Obereggendorf. The defect required a train to be towed, which subsequently disrupted the operational availability of necessary equipment.
