B&B Vol Liefde host Fred Ros recalls earlier TV interview and meeting Princess Beatrix

Fred Ros, a 67‑year‑old B&B owner and artist from Bonaire who appears on the Dutch reality series B&B Vol Liefde, is not a newcomer to television. In the early 2000s he was interviewed by Matthijs van Nieuwkerk on a Dutch TV program after opening an underwater museum, during which he described his extreme photographic work in Antarctica and the Wadden Sea.

Ros also won the Koninklijke Prijs voor Vrije Schilderkunst in 1990, an award presented by then‑Queen Beatrix. He recalled meeting the princess at the Royal Palace on the Dam and said, “I was almost 46, I had 300 months left, and I thought I might die of art within those 300 months.” The recent season of B&B Vol Liefde shows Ros seeking love on Bonaire while still running his guesthouses and a food‑truck called “Koninklijke Kip Tukkie.”
