BBB Overijssel nominates Tjitske de Groot as new deputy

The BBB Overijssel party has nominated Tjitske de Groot as the new deputy for the province of Overijssel. De Groot will succeed Liesbeth Grijsen, who has stepped down from her position to pursue a role at Konnected, a work and learning company in Deventer and Olst-Wijhe.

De Groot brings extensive experience in public administration and political advisory roles. If confirmed by the Provincial States, her portfolio will include responsibility for the implementation of the environmental vision, spatial planning, and participation. Her role will involve managing complex regional challenges, including housing, work, accessibility, agriculture, nature, and energy.

Liesbeth Grijsen, who was responsible for housing in Overijssel, stated that the province is in a strong position regarding housing construction. She noted that the ambition to build homes has been increased from 42,000 to 47,000 by 2030 and that construction is currently proceeding at a sufficient pace.
