BBC and Starz to adapt David Nicholls' 'You Are Here' into TV series

The BBC and U.S. cable network Starz are co‑producing an eight‑part television adaptation of David Nicholls' bestselling novel *You Are Here*. The series will be written by Nicholls himself and directed by Lenny Abrahamson, known for *Normal People* and *Room*.

Claire Foy (best known for *The Crown*) and Matthew Macfadyen (*Succession*) have been cast as the protagonists Marnie and Michael, two mid‑life strangers who embark on a coast‑to‑coast walk across northern England. Filming will take place along the Coast‑to‑Coast trail from the Lake District to Robin Hood’s Bay, with additional locations around Manchester. Production is being handled by Element Pictures, a Fremantle subsidiary.

The drama is billed as an intimate yet epic romantic comedy that explores loneliness, connection and the challenges of midlife, though a release date has not yet been announced.
