BBC announces Blue Planet III with David Attenborough

The BBC has announced the upcoming release of Blue Planet III, a six-episode natural history series narrated by David Attenborough. The production, which took approximately four and a half years to complete, aims to explore new marine species, scientific discoveries, and underwater behaviors.

The series will feature a musical collaboration between composer Hans Zimmer and singer Jade Thirlwall. Their original song, titled “Into the Deep (Seas Cry),” was premiered on BBC Radio 1. Zimmer, who also scored the second installment, described the project as the “most important work” of his career due to its potential to impact how humanity views the planet.

Attenborough, who celebrated his 100th birthday earlier this year, noted that the new series will “venture even further” than previous installments to uncover the sophisticated relationships between humans and the ocean. The series is scheduled to premiere later this year on BBC One, iPlayer, and BBC America.
