BBC announces release date for ‘The Split Up’ spin-off

The BBC has announced the release date for ‘The Split Up’, a new six-part legal drama spin-off of the series ‘The Split’. The show is scheduled to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on September 20.

Created by Ursula Rani Sarma, the series shifts the setting to Manchester and focuses on the Kishan family, a high-net-worth British South Asian family law firm. The plot follows Aria Kishan, played by Ritu Arya, as she prepares to take over the firm from her father, Dhruv (Sanjeev Bhaskar), following the death of her mother. The narrative explores the intersection of her professional responsibilities and personal life, including her upcoming wedding to Neal (Danny Ashok) and the unexpected arrival of a former flame.

The cast includes Mawaan Rizwan, Sindhu Vee, Aysha Kala, Arian Nik, Shalini Peiris, and Tom Forbes, with guest appearances by Lenny Henry, Jane Horrocks, and Jameela Jamil.
