BBC Audio launches new Doctor Who drama and continues Eighth Doctor series
The BBC Audio division released "Doctor Who: Circle of Memory", a new original audio drama starring the Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory. The half‑hour story places the trio at a stone circle with no memory of how they arrived, and follows a plot where an alien parasite threatens their vitality. The production is designed for casual listening, such as commutes or travel.
In parallel, Big Finish, partnered with BBC Radio 4 Extra, released the fifth installment of "Sounds of the Eighth Legacy", featuring the Eighth Doctor and companion Lucie Miller. The episode continues the Lucie Miller saga, showing the Headhunter retrieving a leaking TARDIS and warning of time‑pollution. The series adopts a shorter, two‑part format released as weekly downloadable episodes with accompanying CDs.
Both releases illustrate the BBC’s ongoing strategy to expand the Doctor Who universe through audio‑only storytelling, offering fans new narratives across different Doctor incarnations.
