BBC Bitesize accused of promoting political views to students
An investigation by the Mail on Sunday has accused the BBC's educational website, BBC Bitesize, of promoting extreme left-wing views on topics such as migration, Net Zero, and inequality to millions of schoolchildren.
The report highlights a Roblox-based game titled ‘Increasing Immigration’ used by students. According to the investigation, the game rewards players with higher scores for selecting ‘open borders’ or granting amnesty to undocumented migrants, while penalizing players for choosing deportation. The investigation also noted that geography materials for students appeared to advocate for a ‘borderless world’ through discussions on globalization.
BBC Bitesize is a major educational resource in Britain, reportedly used by half of all children aged four to sixteen, with approximately 1.7 million weekly users. In response to the allegations, the BBC stated that students are not rewarded for choosing specific political positions and noted that players can also receive rewards for actions such as training local workers or closing borders.
